In 2026, the Keys to Connection team collaborated with the Music Institute of Chicago (MIC) to organize the institute's first-ever performance wear resale event, The Performance Closet. The event centers on collecting high quality, gently used concert attire that students have outgrown, and making it available at low cost to other students, with all proceeds donated to MIC. The event was held on May 2nd. In total:
- About 150 people attended
- 30+ families donated items
- 50+ families found performance attire
- Over 100 items were redistributed
The event raised more than $2,500 for the Music Institute of Chicago!
